My heart is overflowing just looking through all of these photos again today. We had such a fun time planning and putting on this little birthday party for Elin. Who knew children’s parties could be so much fun?! Last year, her first birthday party was just a family affair, but this year it was fun to invite some of her new little friends. (#squadgoals) She had the time of her life playing and by the end of the day she was so exhausted she was asking to go to bed. LOL! Next year she will be in Kindy (runs from 2 1/2 to 6 years here) so hopefully she will have even more friends her age. Because our home is still in a state of renovation chaos, we held her party at our neighborhood park/strandbad. Unfortunately, it was a little too chilly to swim, but luckily there was a playground, sandpit and lots of room to run!
Because Elin is obsessed with “lambies”, I made a pink cake from scratch and decorated it to look like a lamb with vanilla buttercream, marshmallows, chocolate Zuckerschrift and a pink M&M for the nose. (Thanks Pinterest!) My sister had a beautiful, personalized lambie dress made for her big day and Juni is also wearing a personalized onesie designed by Auntie Lacey. (Fawn and Clover makes these beautiful baby clothes, FYI!) We feasted on cake, macarons, fresh fruit, and salty snacks as well as sparking water (Elin calls it “sparkles”) and juice for the littles.
Elin is such a special little being. She has a huge heart, independent spirit and curious nature. She is also hilarious! We just love her to bits and enjoyed spoiling her on her special day. I look forward to what this next year will bring for her…Half-day kindergarten, swimming lessons, and children’s ballet will all be fun new adventures. It’s exciting to watch Elin learn and grow into the unique little girl she is. Thank you so much for all the birthday wishes this past weekend!
