Neonmarkt is 3! + Bullet Journaling?

Posted on

As I sit here planning out the next couple weeks of Friday posts (look at me getting back on a schedule), I realize that today is Neonmarkt’s 3 year anniversary. The blog has come a long way in both content and voice and has evolved into a little personal space of my own. I enjoy creating and sharing with my readers, all of whom I totally appreciate. Just please don’t go back and read the early posts, they are cringe-worthy! It’s actually amazing I have gathered the following I have today.

One thing I will stop doing is promising/pledging to do one thing or another. For example, I have failed so many times to get my online art & design shop up at a certain deadline I have set for myself. I am not going to make any more deadlines for the shop. I can’t wait to get my business rolling, believe me, but my two girls are rightfully consuming my time and days right now. This short time when they are both so little is going to fly, so I am hanging on and cherishing this time before it’s gone. The shop will happen someday as I work on it slowly and surely, so I’m not worried about it.

[Awkward transition of thought] So I want to jump into something I have been seeing lately and wondered if any of you have heard of Bullet Journaling? Ever since I started the blog, I have kept a planner/journal to keep my ideas, posts and schedule in line. This was especially handy when I was posting 3x a week, but since slowing down on my posting frequency, I use it to keep track of basically my whole life: social events, trips, and appointments, etc. I crack into a fresh planner every January (fav) and by December it looks like it’s been to hell and back. I feel like I kind of follow the basics of Bullet Journaling, except my calendars are already printed and formatted for me. I am intrigued by the indexing, flexibility and old-school vibe of Bullet Journaling though, and I also like that you can keep a closer eye on your efficiency and focus. For a creative, it could be a really useful tool for getting the brain fog of ideas sorted out. The only issue for me is that my handwriting is an eyesore and it would be tough to make mine look attractive aka something I would keep up with and be inspired by. Anyways, let me know if you are into it and how it works for you.

So what’s up this weekend? This afternoon I have a Pilates class followed by a little get together with friends at the house after the girls go to bed. On Saturday we are driving to Czech and staying for one night to see some more friends and I will try to be proactive at taking photos to share. Have a great weekend and I will see you back here next Friday! xo T

I’ve never heard of bullet journaling, I’ll have to check it out. I agree with family being at the center. 😊
