Oh, hey there! No, I didn’t die. I did turn 30, but I suppose that doesn’t count. After returning from the USA, I took a little break from blogging that kept getting extended and extended and extended. It’s been great taking some time away from the blog, but it was high time for me to jump back on here to explain myself and catch you up with what’s new.
We have been busy finishing up the outdoor renovations, as well as installing a brand new water heater and heating system for the house. It’s all very unglamorous and inconvenient (sweaty men stomping mud through the clean house and banging around in the heating room all the day long), but Eric assures me it will all be worth it in the end. I am most concerned that I may not have any running water in the house tonight. I know we definitely won’t have hot water, which makes baths for the girls and a shower for myself unthinkable, but not having any running water is a much bigger problem. Anyways.
Eric is in south east Asia at the moment for 3 weeks so he doesn’t even have to deal with said sweaty men. To celebrate his father’s 70th birthday, Eric decided to take him on the trip of a lifetime. This trip has been in the works for about 6 months and today they will finally meet up and set off. They begin their adventure in Singapore, but will also travel to Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos & Myanmar. (I think that is the full list!) I am so excited for them and look forward to sharing the adventure with you later on.
So what have I been up to? Aside from taking care of my two little angels, I have been sewing up a storm. I am working toward opening up an online shop to sell my art prints and hand-sewn delicates. Including, but not limited to, the cute little bralettes you may have spotted on my IG! If you want to stay on the up and up with the shop and get notifications about when it launches etc, please go follow @neonmarktstudio on IG! Website coming soon!
This blog isn’t going anywhere, but my energy is definitely now directed toward building and stocking the shop. This site will remain a personal blog with updates about the girls, our travel, and the house reno work. I can’t say I’ll never post a recipe or do a VCG post again, but it’s not what I want to put my energy into anymore. I also won’t set a posting schedule like I used to do, I will just post whenever I am motivated and have content worth sharing. I hope you can understand!
Before I go, I wanted to share some of our most recent family photos with you. We had these done in the states by an incredible photographer who also happens to be a dear family friend! Go check out www.kaitlynsmithphoto.com if you want to see more of her work or book an appointment! She’s the best (and great with children!) Have a great Monday!!!
