Revisiting The Caves in Negril, Jamaica

negril jamaica-01Eric and I have been lucky enough to travel to several different countries around the world, so I am starting a series on the blog that will revisit some of the cities and countries we have visited and also include some packing ideas for each trip. I hope you enjoy!

Today I am sharing some photos from our honeymoon in Jamaica. We stayed in the most beautiful, all-inclusive, boutique hotel called The Caves located on Negril’s stunning West End cliffs. The hotel features only a handful of cottages perched on the cliff edges overlooking th ocean and surrounded by lush greenery. Because the hotel only allows 12 accommodations at one time, you sometimes feel like you are the only two guests in the whole resort. Some days we would only see a few other couples around the property as we enjoyed cliff jumping, swimming, sunbathing and spa treatments. We also signed up for private excursions with the hotel’s activities guide like snorkeling in the caves and kayaking along the coastline. The food each day was incredible as well. Breakfast, lunch and dinner featured local fare that we couldn’t get enough of and during the day there was an open bar just waiting for us to request a drink or blended fruit smoothie of our choice. It was the perfect place for Eric and I to relax and spend a lot of quality time together as newlyweds. The entire experience exceeded our wildest expectations and ever since returning, we often reminisce about that week together and plan on going back for a future wedding anniversary.negril jamaica-02

The relaxed atmosphere and beautiful weather make living in a bikini, sandals and a cover-up totally acceptable for daytime. Make-up is kept minimal because of the humidity and aside from a little sunscreen, a bright lip is all you need to complete your daily beauty regimen.
